Need to Upgrade singlestore DB version from 7.1 to 7.8 . DO we need to taken any backup ?if yes , could you please provide me the steps

I have memsql DB version is 7.1 and I need to upgrade it with latest 7.8 version
Do we need to take any backup or can I update it directly using steps mentioned on

You can upgrade it in place, but you should take a backup first, to be safe, in case something goes wrong during the upgrade.
